Projects

Check back our projects change often

A friend who loves to help with projects was scheduling his visit, he asked what we had going?  I mentioned we were working on firewood. We always need firewood because we heat the main Lodge with wood and have year-round Treehouse Guests who purchase firewood for campfires and our old time tin outdoor hot tub.

He laughed, and said, "Never have I seen a pile of firewood that was too large." Agreed, we are always chopping firewood.

The incredibly giving Michael Krampf, Jr., answered an ad I put on Craigslist for someone to cut firewood, split it and share 50%. Sweet Michael showed up for the task cutting town 10 trees, helping me cut them up while I wrangled them with Bermuda my Kubota tractor with the best attachment on the planet a root grapple. Michael even borrowed a power splitter and we created a huge pile of firewood.

When I said, "Now, you are next..." He got in his truck and said, "I don't need any now." and drove away until the following spring. Incredible loving, giving people show up on The Magic Land and we are so blessed.

Kevin Tennant and Michael operate his invention the Loginator that splits anything it looks at with ease.

An oak beetle or bug has invaded many trees and while it is sad, it makes choosing which trees to take down easier.

The Goddess Garden and Grounds emerged from a creative solution for what to do with the tree tennis court. Abandonded for 20 years, they earth opened and through the asphault emerged very special trees. As we were choosing what to keep in the space, Master Gardener Edith James said, "Those are persimmon trees!" It was a sign we were on the right road.
The Goddess Garden Vision
This will be a feminine space for women only. Mother's and daughter's will make the one hour adventure drive from St. Louis or beyond, free of music or electronics to arrive open and ready to learn, grow and participate. We will wear all white and every plant grown here will be infused with love and light.
They will be raised bed gardens and we will add a greenhouse as well for 24/7/365 growing.
A sacred worship and gathering circle for workshops and talks will bring hearts and souls together.
We added apple and pear trees outside The Goddess Garden and even Gooser and Lilly think it's pretty cool to be in there with the super high fencing to keep deer out.
